Make sure that anyone whose body temperature is to be measured has not been eating, drinking, exercising or out in hot sunshine for the last 30 minutes. • Place the thermometer probe in the armpit, close the arm over it and wait for at least 2 minutes. Read the thermometer (do not remove it unless you have to), replace and take a second reading to check: it should be the same as the first. Compare results from different people obtained using the same thermometer. Does everyone have the same body temperature?
